Medical Imaging Startup 'NOUS Imaging' Ropes in Ken Bruener as CEO
NOUS Imaging, a medical imaging software company, announces Ken Bruener as its President and Chief Executive Officer. Till date, the company’s co-founders Nico Dosenbach, MD, PhD and Damien Fair, PA-C, Ph.D., had been running the company's day-to-day operations. Ken joins NOUS Imaging after his three-years’ stint with Jan Medical Inc, where he designated the role of President.
Having started his career in the early 2000s, Bruener brings in more than two decades of experience to the company. This includes his previously held executive positions at Brainlab AG and Codman Neuro. He had a decade spanning stint with Brain lab as well.
“Ken is the ideal leader for NOUS,” said School of Medicine. “Ken's extensive medical device background and management experience will help NOUS strengthen partnerships, develop strategic alliances and expand our footprint as we work towards FDA clearance of our software.”
Commenting on the occasion, Ken stated, “I'm incredibly excited to be part of the NOUS team. We are in a unique position to disrupt a very important industry. We will be focused on delivering clinicians image quality and motion data using a brand-new approach, with the goal of providing patients with a better MR experience.”
Founded in 2017, NOUS Imaging is a transformational medical imaging software company developing solutions in the MR space. Influenced by the biofeedback- based MR quality improvement software, called Framewise Integrated Real-Time MRI Monitoring (FIRMM) the company developed, in December 2019, the company had garnered $6.6 million in venture capital and government research investments, including funding from the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) program at the National Institute of Mental Health, National Institutes of Health.
